In the summer of 2018, I went to Haida Gwaii, a magical island in Northern BC, as part of a study abroad program from UBC. As the final project, we all had to describe our experience there in a medium of our choosing. I was most impressed by the stories I learned from Haida people and tried to express them with a frame-by-frame animation. This animation is about the story of the first tree and how its offsprings traveled all around the world and created the beautiful forests that we have.
